Where other IT certification areas fell about two percent in the past twelve months, these information security areas had their increase in the past six months. The report itself involved close to thirty four thousand Canadian and United States IT professionals.

The report continues to state, "Security certifications bucked the overall trend by growing in value from October to April, up an average of 1.7 percent across the entire group of twenty-seven security certifications that we survey.
